Philanthropy

At SF Gay Life, we strive to support our local LGBTQ nonprofits and charitable causes as best we can.

The big galas are lots of fun, and we love to support them, but nearest and dearest to our hearts are the scrappy little fundraisers to support our charities. The drag shows at a neighborhood bar on a Saturday afternoon. The Sunday beer busts with raffles and alcoholic Jell-o shots, especially when the servers go shirtless or down to their undies. The walk-a-thons and fun runs and 500-mile AIDS LifeCycle bike rides and skivvy runs through the Castro. The speedo fashion shows. The lube wrestling events. The full monty strip shows that the rugby team used to do.

If you are doing a fundraiser for an LGBTQ cause and would like our support, please use our Contact form to let us know. We’re happy to support fundraisers for LGBTQ social service organizations, but also those supporting artistic and athletic organizations as well. Although we aren’t in a position to make financial donations, there are a few other things we can do to help:

  • We can create a post telling our readers about it
  • We have a dedicated ad slot (on the right, under “Philanthropy”) reserved for pro bono ads promoting charitable events and causes
  • We can promote it on our social media

If you are doing a local fundraising event, please reach out to us to see how we can help.
