Some SF gay bars require vaccination

A number of San Francisco bars, including many LGBTQ bars, are starting to require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative COVID antibody test for patrons who want to drink indoors. The policy follows a recommendation by the SF Bar Owner Alliance, which states in part: Effective Thursday, July 29th, 2021, it will be the official position of the SF Bay Owner Alliance that any customer who wishes to remain inside our establishments show proof of vaccination or a 72-hour negative COVID test. Help support SF’s LGBTQ business

With San Francisco and now California’s orders to shut bars and clubs, many people who work in San Francisco’s LGBTQ nightlife scene – bartenders, barbacks, security, drag performers, go-go dancers, and more – are suddenly finding themselves without an income. In addition, the “shelter in place” policies are also cancelling the private parties that many bartenders and performers used to supplement their income. SF Pride still on track…for now

As businesses continue to be shuttered or forced to reduce capacity in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and large outdoor events continue to be cancelled, San Francisco Pride has issued a statement indicating that they continue to prepare for the 50th annual Pride celebration in June in hopes that the spread of the epidemic will have been resolved by then. Some local LGBTQ events are being cancelled

March 13, 2020 5:30 p.m. addendum: The City of San Francisco is now imposing a moratorium on gatherings of greater than one hundred people. Bars and restaurants with a larger capacity will be required to reduce admission and seating.
