The artist collective that owns The Stud, a longtime gay bar that has been in the South of Market neighborhood for 54 years and its present location for 33 years, have announced that the bar will not be able to return once bars are allowed to reopen after the COVID-19 Shelter in Place requirements are modified.
The collective will continue to perform together “in exile” until they are able to secure a new venue.
In the meantime, an online funeral is planned for Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
